    I agree with what you said about students monitoring themselves while working in groups or pairs. Adolescents are always aware of what the others do. They compare and contrast what they do and say with the rest, so why not take advantage of this and use it for their own benefit? ;) As you said, it is also true that it is useful to mix them from time to time so as to create variety in the interaction.

    Anyway, you've clearly summed up the pros of pairwork and groupwork, and not overlooked its limitations... and you've even suggested how some of these might be overcome...
    Wish many teachers enjoy this slideshow and feel encouraged to give this kind of work a try!
